Net or Web ?
Featured Pages : Web Hallway Oh, I forgot to tell you -- this is murder story. The story how a webmaster killed Anatoly. Read on! I hope you understand that your networking starts with you own pages. Before you begin to worry about linkage to other websites and submissions to engines, you should make sure that you have enough pages and you linked them well in one (your own) net. The webmasters call it "sticky" websites, when the vitor stays. 50% hit only a single page. Most likely those 50% will never come back. It could be "wrong" 50% but the fault is yours. Your listing, descriptions, titles, keywords brought them in. This is the zone to fight. Get the quality visitors, YOUR readers. I hope you understand that your each page could a doorway (gateway) page. You do not know how they come (even with the trackers on your pages) -- and they should be able to enter your website from every pages. I do not know how I could not have the tables, frames and navigation bars for a year! Remember, one visitor browsing through 10 pages is better than 10 new surfers. Let him to do your work! Let him bookmark your pages. Let him recommend them.... Do you have the gear on your page, so he can do it? ... ... Lead your viewers to where you would like them to go. Leave plenty of white space and keep your pages organized. Clearly state at the top of your pages what you are about and what you would like your viewers to do. Designing your site for traffic includes offering good content, easy navigation and a logical flow. Additionally you must also build your site to draw traffic from the search engines because if you can obtain high search engine ranking, you can enjoy free traffic. Thirdly, offer good content. Provide information on your site that will help viewers solve a problem. Offer information that they might not get elsewhere. Write reviews regarding your products. Write newsletters and articles and most importantly offer something of value for free. Give your viewers a reason to come back. It will also build trust in you. [ list ]

The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks ... hardware?
My friends, I think I am losing my mind.I see things, which I can't see.
I hear voices....
I am online, they say.
...
This is me.... ...I am bookmarked!
You do not know what I am talking about? About the people who are visiting my pages! Even when I am asleep!
Of course every self-taught webmaster goes through the same cycles: at first you are happy that someone visited your page, then you are not happy with one/day, next -- ten/day... and you want one hundred! You do not know what you are asking for! More hits, visitors, impressions you get, more work must be done. More things to learn.
Listen, it's could be fun still, friends! But if "writing is rewriting" -- the webbing is redesigning. There are websites for one visitor a day, there are some -- for millions a day. The more users you get, less "personal" your page become. Nothing personal, but "personal homepages" must be left behind, if you want your traffic to grew. Alas! If you are not big company, don't make your pages "impersonal" (links, catalogues, policy), you still must have a face, or unique style. Yes, you have to package yourself. You must be remembered.
The shortest way -- the visual, the graphics. If you noticed I removed many enimations from pages (be careful with the freebies, do your own). I tried different backgrounds... only to arrive back to the plain white pages. The music files are gone. Even the pix! Why?
Because the content, the text is more eccential. Do you know that the text-links are clicked more often than the banners? Remember, the web began as "publishing" and not "brodcasting"! We still call it "pages" -- something to read. Book pages? Newspaper? Magazine?
Aha! This is what you have to decide for yourself, master. This is a selection of YOUR genre. It all depends on your product. Only after two years I understood that what I have are the books. (As a result you can see now the title, preface, biblio pages).
Web-books are different from traditional print books. They are so different that now I have two versions, one is for web users, another (text-only) for download and print.
